Networking The Women’s Interactive Network (WIN) and Gentlemen's Interactive Network (GIN) offers an opportunity to meet women and men who are successful in all aspects of business, from the corporate ranks to entrepreneurs. Every meeting and event allows ample opportunity to hone networking skills while enjoying the company of business-minded individuals. Mentoring WIN recognizes the power and importance of mentoring as it relates to personal and professional growth. WIN and GIN provides extensive mentoring opportunities for those facing economic hardship. We welcome our members to become actively engaged in the process. The mentors and mentees make a commitment to meet at least once a month and connect weekly through email or by phone. The mentoring committee has created a formal program that provides both the mentors and mentees with the resources they need to develop a positive and engaging mentoring relationship that promotes both personal and professional development. Educating WIN encourages professional development through its programming. Each monthly meeting, or webinar includes speakers who will teach you new leadership, marketing, financial planning and interpersonal skills. Participating on any of WIN’s committees also provides a great opportunity to learn new skills while forming closer relationships with other members. Learn new, marketable skills within the event planning, finance, marketing, membership, mentoring, programming, and nominating committees. Organization History WIN-Pittsburgh was established in 2006 as a networking organization for professional women in the Greater Pittsburgh area. In June 2011, WIN-Pittsburgh was re-organized under its current leader, Dawn Pomaybo, to better serve the community of women that so loyally supported the organization during its early years. As WIN-Pittsburgh developed into a strong and vibrant local organization, it became apparent that our content and structure could easily be carried into other cities. Our members expressed the desire to network with other professional women across the nation. Moving forward, a vision and plan to expand the reach of WIN was created, thereby creating WIN-National, the National Association of the Women’s Interactive Network…where professional women network with a purpose. GIN Gentlemens Interactive Network In December 2021, an exploratory men's luncheon was held to determine interest for a men's version of WIN. We were excited to launch GIN (The Gentlemen's Interactive Network) & GIN-Pittsburgh on February 10, 2022. Philanthropy In September 2021, WIN was granted fiscal sponsorship through a program, WIN-Spirations. Our purpose is to reduce poverty and build gender equity by providing networking, professional mentoring, and education to women experiencing economic hardship. Two years later, September 2023, WIN-Spirations became a 501C3 organization, with our supporting organization, WIN. |
